 Airdrie Festival of Lights

Bow Valley Credit Union is a proud sponsor of the Airdrie Festival of Lights Penguin Village. The Festival is held nightly from December 1st – 31st at the Nose Creek Park in Airdrie, Alberta. Enjoy a Hot Chocolate or Hot Apple Cider by the bonfire, take a ride on the miniature train, skate the pond or just enjoy the beautiful light displays.

Stargazing at the Banff Gondola

The winter sky becomes alive at dark, and it’s just that much more spectacular when you’re standing mountaintop at 2200 metres. After dinner at Sky Bistro, make sure to head to the rooftop and join astronomers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Calgary for an amazing stargazing adventure. Learn through interactive exhibits and games for kids and young-at heart adults. After, warm up with a night cap from our signature after dinner taste and drink menu.

Zoo Lights

The Calgary Zoo’s annual Zoolights event will literally make you see this local attraction in a whole new light. Now in its 20th year, the event runs during the evenings from November 24 to January 6 (except on Christmas Day). The zoo is lit up in dozens of light displays comprised of 1.5 million lights. In addition to the light displays, there are more than 15 activities including giant puzzles about animal adaptation, weekend storytimes, a straw bale maze, a giant Lite-Brite and a skating rink.

Winter Carnival

Canmore winters are fun and full of magic. Every February we come together as a community during the Canmore Winter Carnival to celebrate the best parts of our unique winter lifestyle. With two weeks of indoor and outdoor events and experiences, the Canmore Winter Carnival is a favourite for locals and visitors alike. Enjoy ice carving competitions, kids’ ice carving , skating parties, street hockey, log sawing competitions, the always entertaining pooch parade, art crawls and the popular Snowy Owl Kid N’ Mutt races.

ATCO Cochrane WinterFest, Mitford Park, February 2018. ATCO WinterFest will be showcasing some of the activities that have made Canada what it is over the last 150 years. We are delighted to have a trapping exhibit this year. Other activities include maple syrup sugar shack, human curling, pancake breakfast and more. Free admission. Food donations will be gratefully accepted for the Cochrane Activettes.
