Up Next: 2015

Think about your story. What is your story going to be this year? It’s easy to get distracted, to start wishing differently and start seeing your story differently. What are your goals for 2015? Are they big? Or small? Perhaps more relevant than the size of the goal is how important it is to you. It doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing if it isn’t relevant to you.

whats-your-storyIf you had to write your own agenda for the year, what would it look like? What goals do you plan to chase? What battles do you want to win? What do you plan to change? Mental clarity is an amazing thing to achieve although it’s a lofty goal. Try anyways: you might end up being surprised at what you learn about yourself. Since you are writing your story, don’t get stuck thinking that you are trapped. It might feel like that some days and it isn’t possible to change everything all at once, but it isn’t an all or nothing proposition. You might not be in control of a lot, but find something you are in the driver’s seat for and make it count for you. Smile in the face of challenges and do your best to rise up and meet them.

While you are thinking about what your story is going to be this year, you might want to consider aiming higher. We all know we need to aim higher, and we try to do it, but life has a way of taking over. It comes in the form of your daily workload, immediate issues that needs to be resolved, family problems that needs to be addressed, targets that need to be met and so on and on. There’s often unforeseen curveballs just around the corner. The result? Before you know it, we get into the trap of living life and dreaming a little less. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to settle for less. And if it takes a little more effort? If it is worth having or doing, it is worth the extra effort, I think.

Quotation-Susan-Statham-life-Meetville-Quotes-262422Getting dragged down? Don’t forget to laugh. Laugh, laugh and laugh a little bit more. Laugh at yourself, laugh at your mistakes, laugh at TV commercials and everything else worth laughing at, even when nobody is laughing with you. Laughter is the best medicine and all that. Besides, laugh lines are better than frown lines.

You should work for the win-win because you are a lot more likely to be successful than when you are working with people than against them.   When you achieve those successes, don’t forget to celebrate them!

Enough philosophy for now! Have yourself a wonderful 2015.
