Bow Valley Credit Union is invested in the education and professional success of its members. The BVCU Scholarship Program is designed to financially assist qualified applicants in enrollment of post-secondary programs.
Applications will be received between August 15th and November 30th, 2017. A selection committee will review and vote on each submission. Recipients will be awarded at Annual General Meeting of the members in February 2018.

In October 2016, Bow Valley Credit Union launched its first Scholarship program dedicated to our members to help them achieve their career goals.
At our AGM held on February 15, 2017 CEO Larry Bohn presented two scholarships to well-deserving students:
- Community & Leadership Award: $500 Zoe Lawless
- Jack Paterson Memorial Award for Academic Achievement and Citizenship: $1,000 River Hutchison-Brewster

We are pleased to help make a difference in the lives of Bow Valley College learners by offering scholarships to 4 individuals: Samanta Reno, Dennis Bijvank, Graham Larkin and Nadeem Jiwa.

On behalf of Alberta Credit Unions, CRI Canada is pleased to introduce the Learning Grant Program which will award 4 Learning Grants in the amount of $750 to eligible students for full-time study at a qualifying Canadian college or university in 2016.
Any student who is a member of an Alberta Credit Union is eligible to apply for a Learning Grant provided they have received a valid high school diploma or will be eligible to receive a diploma during the year of application. Learning Grants are also open to first year post secondary students!
In order to be considered for a Learning Grant, applications must be received by May 2, 2016. Candidates may be asked to supply information on their ability to finance their education.
All Learning Grant applications must be accompanied by:
1.An official transcript of final results of all high school credit courses to date (and post secondary results if applicable).
2.One letter of reference from school principal, teacher, or professor/instructor.
3.Put your thoughts to paper: An essay of 500 words or less OR put your thoughts to video: Send us a three to five minute video. Be sure to describe your achievements including academic, artistic and athletic; community involvement, leadership, and education goals.
The Selection Process:
The Learning Grants will be awarded on the basis of a number of factors that include academic achievement, artistic/athletic achievements, community involvement, and leadership displayed. A selection committee comprised of senior-level credit union employees will determine successful candidates. Application materials will not be returned to the applicants. Recipients of the awards must agree to have their name and photograph published.
